Kelly Pearl, Esq., CES®

President, Exchange Services, LLC, and Exchange Counsel

Kelly Pearl joined Zions Bank in September 2008 as exchange counsel and business development officer for their tax-deferred exchange division, Exchange Services, LLC.

She attended the University of San Diego School of Law where she received a Juris Doctorate in 1993 and a Master of Laws in Taxation in 1998.  Prior to joining California Bank & Trust, Kelly was local exchange counsel for the Exchange Division of a large Midwest bank, managing their West Coast operation and, subsequently, a national title insurer.  Kelly began her law career as an attorney in private practice in San Diego, specializing first in real estate litigation and transactional matters and then later in estate planning, trust administration, probate and elder law.

Kelly was one of the very first recipients of the Certified Exchange Specialist® (CES®) designation from the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA) and was Chair of the CES® Certification Council from 2010 to 2016 and 2019 to the present.  In September 2012, Kelly was awarded the FEA President’s Award for her significant, outstanding contributions and, in September 2017, she was awarded The Margo McDonnell Certified Exchange Specialist® Perpetual Award by the CES® Certification Council in recognition of her extraordinary service to the 1031 exchange industry—she is one of only 5 individuals in the nation to have received both awards.

Laura McKee

Operations Manager

Laura McKee is Operations Manager of Exchange Services, LLC, the tax-deferred exchange division of Zions Bank.

Before joining Exchange Services, Laura worked as an Exchange Officer for First American Exchange Company and Metro National Exchange Services.  She served as a certified instructor for continuing education for the State of Utah.  She has worked in the field of commercial and residential real estate, primarily specializing in 1031 exchanges, since 2003.

Laura brings extensive knowledge and experience Exchange Services, combined with a focus on service focus that enables her to surpass the customers’ needs.


Frank Bethea, CES®

Exchange Officer

Frank Bethea has an extensive background in banking and investments.  Before joining Exchange Services in 2017, he worked as a Banker for Zions Bank as well as Wells Fargo and served as a Licensed Investment Advisor for E-trade.  Frank earned the CES® designation in 2022.

Frank brings several years of customer service and banking experience with the goal of enhancing the customer’s overall experience when going through the exchange process.

Cynthia Gleason

Exchange Officer

Cynthia Gleason has a depth of experience in front-end and back-end customer service and started with Zions Bank in 2008.  Her career at Zions Bank included operational duties in the ACH department before being recruited to Exchange Services in 2019.

Cynthia’s focus is on ensuring each customer’s 1031 exchange is processed smoothly and efficiently and each customer thoroughly understands the process.


Taylor Putnam

Exchange Officer

Taylor Putnam joined Exchange Services in 2021, and prior thereto, worked as a banker for Zions Bank for three years.  She is a current student at the University of Utah with plans to graduate in April 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in English. 

Taylor looks forward to continuing to work with clients throughout their exchange process. 

Jamie Russell

Exchange Officer

After 10 years of exclusively managing a family of 6, Jamie decided to jump back into the work force with Exchange Services as an Exchange Officer.  She decided it would be a good fit with her history of working in the title and escrow industry in prior years. 

Jamie is passionate about customer service and building a thorough knowledge of 1031 exchanges to assist our customers with their exchange questions and transactions.
